This Updating Course on Basic Training – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (BT-PSSR) equips seafarers with updated competencies aligned with the STCW Convention, as amended, specifically Table A-VI/1-4. In line with MSC Resolution 560 (108), this course ensures that participants maintain essential safety and social responsibility skills. The course is delivered entirely through asynchronous e-learning. Theory is covered via self-paced LMS modules, and practical skills are assessed remotely through structured tasks and submitted evidence. The entire eight-hour course complies with MARINA Memorandum Circular No. SC-2021-10 and our Quality Standards System. By course end, you will have refreshed your readiness to respond to onboard emergencies and uphold your responsibilities as a professional seafarer.

Welcome to the Basic Training – Elementary First Aid (BT-EFA) course. This training is designed to build the mandatory competence in Elementary First Aid under STCW Code Section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-3, enabling trainees to take immediate action when faced with an accident or medical emergency onboard. The course has an indicative duration of 16 instructional hours, with the theoretical component delivered through Distance Learning (8 hours), supported by guided learning activities and instructor monitoring.
To comply with MARINA Memorandum Circular No. SC-2021-10 for Distance Learning and E-Learning, this course is delivered using a SCORM-compliant LMS that supports learner progress tracking, assessment/quiz hosting, completion and certification management, and file submissions with instructor feedback. The course also provides web-conferencing capability (as applicable), and an accessible helpdesk/technical support channel to ensure smooth and continuous access to learning materials and assessments.
This course will teach you the essential first aid actions needed onboard ship—how to assess a casualty safely, provide immediate care, and apply basic life-saving techniques until further medical help is available. You will complete interactive online lessons and quizzes through the LMS, and you will be guided on how your progress and completion will be recorded in accordance with MARINA MC SC-2021-10 requirements.
